Our Heritage

Authentic Indian Food
in Honiton
— Punjabi Home Cooking

When I moved to Devon, I found myself craving the flavours of my childhood. There were plenty of places serving Indian food, but nothing captured the true essence of Punjabi home cooking — the slow cook, the depth of spice, the recipes passed down through generations. I missed the comfort, the warmth, and the feeling of being nourished in the way only home food can.

So I returned to my roots: my mother’s recipes, my family’s traditions, and the soulful cooking that shaped who I am. From that longing, Spice@Five was born — bringing authentic Indian curries and Punjabi home food to Devon, made with the same care and patience it deserves.

Every dish is cooked the way it was taught to me: slowly, lovingly, and with respect for the flavours that define our culture. And now, all you need to do is Just Heat and Eat — real home-cooked Indian food, ready when you are.

Preparation

Heating & Storage

For safety and best results, please follow these instructions carefully.

Heating Mains

Your meal comes in a microwave‑safe plastic container.

  • Microwave (Recommended): Loosen lid to vent. Heat 3–4 mins. Stir halfway. Ensure food is piping hot throughout.
  • On the Stove: Transfer to a pan. Warm on medium heat for 5–8 mins. Stir occasionally.
  • Oven: Transfer to an oven‑safe dish (not plastic). Heat at 180°C (fan 170°C) for 15–20 mins.

🔥 Heating Sides, Kebabs & Pakoras

All items come in 650ml plastic takeaway containers.

  • Microwave (Recommended): Loosen the lid slightly to vent. Heat on full power for 2–3 minutes for sides, 3–4 minutes for kebabs and pakoras. Shake or stir halfway for even heating. Ensure everything is piping hot throughout before eating.
  • Oven: Do not put the plastic container in the oven. Transfer food to an oven‑safe dish and cover lightly. Heat at 180°C (fan 170°C) for:
    • Sides: 10–12 minutes
    • Turkey Kebabs: 12–15 minutes
    • Pakoras: 8–10 minutes (to keep them crisp)
Heat until hot all the way through.
  • Air Fryer (Pakoras only): Place pakoras in the basket (no oil needed). Heat at 160°C for 4–6 minutes. Great for restoring crispiness.

❄️ Storage Guidance

  • Refrigerate: Keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze: All items can be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Defrost: Best results when defrosted overnight in the fridge.
  • Reheat from frozen: Add an extra 2–3 minutes in the microwave or 5 minutes in the oven.

🔥 Heating Guidance

  • Microwave: Wrap naan in a slightly damp paper towel. Heat for 20–30 seconds. Serve immediately.
  • Oven: Preheat to 180°C (fan 170°C). Lightly sprinkle with water. Wrap in foil. Heat for 5–7 mins (open foil for last 1 min).
